Describing Feminine Energy

I am electric-orange.
I am strong legs running
through a poppy field, two arms
thrown open, both feet meeting
soil, moon-face turned up to
the sun, with lips like peonies.

Like Gaea—I am lifestuff
with one hand plunged
into the earth.

[if words] or Homage to E.E.

Your laugh asks
if thinking first
will softly tie us—
(but only
the
brush
of your skin
on my skin
can get to the
nerve of that).
For if words
felt
like your lips
on my lips (my
darling),
then speaking
would soften
the endings
and elbows
And edges
of me.
